Alarming Recording Shows Instant Officers Suffer Blade Attacks in Surprise Attack

Both Senior Officers Instants Prior to the Assailant Was Tasered

A senior officer who jumped to the aid of a partner that was assaulted by a knife attacker was granted the Royal Recognition for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a blade to the throat of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a driver following a traffic accident in that location in mid-2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a electric weapon.

"Officer stabbed," PC Wolstencroft was heard to say over his communication device.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage made public by the agency depicted Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a hood up, run up to Sgt Foster from behind with a blade pointed forward.

He struck the officer who tripped and dropped to the pavement, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and tried to wrestle him to the floor even though being multiple times hit with the weapon.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Incapacitated the Assailant, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

PC Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a clear shot, bringing the fight to an finish.

Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide help on my neck here, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sgt Ansell sustained multiple open wounds to his neck and additional wounds to his arms and torso, whereas Sergeant Foster suffered cut injuries.

The department stated Sgt Foster employed his hands to control his partner's hemorrhaging prior to emergency responders reached the scene.

This most recent recognition comes subsequent to the three officers won internal Bravery Awards in late 2023 and the police federation award from the regional union branch in spring 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Valor Recognition in mid-2024.

"The responses of each policeman eventually saved each other and ensured no civilians suffered any injuries."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in early 2024, according to the department.
