Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented California Coast
A helicopter hovering near a popular southern California beach unexpectedly started spinning out of control, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos uploaded on social media depict the chopper commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders reported five individuals were taken to hospital comprising a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were harmed. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
